They hunt in packs ‘cross our urban landscape
Searching for people whose lives they will take
They shatter the dreams and the fam’lies they touch
It’s heartbreaking, sick’ning, it’s just too damn much
It’s like:
Germany in the 30’s when Jews were the prey
They died by the millions, scared and afraid
The ‘others’, the ‘different’ became the enemy
Persecuted just for being, God, the pictures haunt me
People disappeared ’cause no one took a stand
The world went to war, it could happen again
Today, in America, here in the USA
ICE, Trump’s own Gestapo, has us heading this way
They track and they tackle and they terrorize
They kill and arrest and demoralize
They kidnap, they deport, they want us to fear
Wake up, right now, today, ‘cause it’s happening here
Get the ICE out of our land, we won’t stand for this
Our country is made up of proud immigrants
Always has been, always will be, we can’t change those facts
Get the ICE out of our state, we must take our rights back
Or we’ll lose them forever, they’re so hard to retrieve
Our freedom, our ideals and our liberty

Just another February morning in the USA in 2026. It’s 5:30 AM, words that turn into images are thrust into my mind. Wolves in the street hunting. Nazis killing Jews with a pistol. ICE taking people’s lives, maybe with guns, maybe just with violent grabs and takedowns and handcuffs. Families wondering where their loved ones are. Families seeking only a better life.
That’s how my morning started. Thanks be to God, for the words, the images, for helping me to know that all of this is wrong in so many ways. Why can’t everyone see these truths?
May you feel and recognize God’s hand moving in your life, today and always!
